The Process
Within the scope of the project;
In the Figma education, I tried to combine the modern design of Instagram with the iconic style of the 1980s, if the Instagram app had existed in the 1980s. The 1980s was a time of bright colors, polaroid photos, VHS tapes, and the heyday of music.
Research : 1980s, Nostalgia and Authenticity
First, we started by delving deep into the aesthetics and culture of the 1980s. I was inspired by the color palette, fonts and icons of that era.Everyone remembers the 1980s for its bright neon colors, cassette players, classic polaroid photos and, of course, classic star-studded movies. I focused on how I could infuse Instagram with the vibe of these times.
Design and Prototyping: Rethinking Instagram
I redesigned different parts of Instagram, everything from the profile page to the feed, from stories to the explore section. In this step, I customized every detail using Figma's tools.
Feedback
I improved our designs by sharing prototypes and collecting feedback, taking into account users' expectations and feedback to get a better result.

The Results
And here's the result: I redesigned Instagram with a touch of the 1980s. It's an experience that combines modern and nostalgic elements. When using Instagram, users will take a short trip back in time and at the same time better understand the design potential of Instagram. I tried to combine the past with the future, emphasizing design flexibility and creativity.
